RVH Golf Classic tournament serves as a hub for new partnership opportunities

Over the last 19 years, approximately 3,000 golfers have played more than 27,000 holes during the RVH Golf Classic tournament, and helped to raise significant dollars to support the needs of our local hospital.

This is a testament to the ongoing support received from our community.

“We’re so grateful to the golfers, many of whom represent local organizations and businesses, the sponsors who give generously, and the volunteers who tirelessly dedicate their time to help make this tournament a success every year,” says Patrick Cayen, Chair of organizing committee.

This year’s tournament on Friday June 8 will be a celebration of the 20th anniversary of this signature event and the impact it has had for patients and families at RVH.

“It is remarkable to see the success of what was started by a small number of hospital volunteers in 1998,” says Jim Lemenchick, Chair, RVH Foundation. “The enduring success of the tournament speaks to the importance of the hospital in our community.”

Funds raised through the tournament have supported almost every area of the hospital including upgrades in the emergency department, state-of-the-art digital mammography in medical imaging, and the expansion of the Regional Nephrology Centre and resulting redevelopment throughout the facility.

“This tournament has made a difference in the lives of thousands of RVH patients by supporting innovation in equipment and clinical programs,” notes Sarah Robinson, RVH Foundation Executive Director.

There’s still time to be a part of the special anniversary edition of the tournament, which will be held once again at the Renfrew Golf Club, a long-time sponsor. It’s sure to be a sell out again this year, so register soon!

Sponsorship opportunities for the tournament still exist. Please contact the RVH Foundation at 613-432-4851 ext. 312, or email: dillaboughp@renfrewhosp.com.
