The evening of December 6, 2024 was the perfect setting for our 2024 Tree of Lights event. A light falling snow, hot apple cider, s’mores by the fire pit made by our amazing Oncology team, festive cookies from our Dietary department all enhanced the special feeling of the season. Community members came out to see Santa, listen to the wonderful festive carols sung by The Valley Harmonizers and to see the tributes in memory and in honour of others highlighting our 2024 Tree of Lights.
Pat McGregor, a wonderful advocate for the Renfrew Victoria Hospital and a valued fundraiser, raising over $15,000 through her Third party events was the perfect choice to be our official “Tree Lighter”. After an enthusiastic countdown, our beautiful Render’s tree was lit with the “Lights of Love” and added a magical glow to our RVH Healing Garden. Special thanks to Rob Tripp, Chair of the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Board and Kim Sterling Chair of the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation Board for bringing greetings and thanks to our community for their support over the past year. Kim also thanked Jon Pole of MYFM for his ongoing support of our Giving Tuesday Match Program that resulted in a single day total of $25,480 (before match) that purchased a Bladder Scanner for our Nephrology and Urology departments and a portable ECHO for our Nephrology Department as well. An incredible result on Giving Tuesday.
The RVH Foundation Executive Director Patti Dillabough also sent a huge thanks out to our RVH Maintenance team for their patience and assistance in decorating the Healing Garden so magically and to the Dietary team for the treats.
It was another magical evening bringing the love and wonderment of the season to light!
