Patient and family appreciate “endless” care

Because of our generous donors who have supported the Renfrew Victoria Hospital and Foundation we are able to provide compassionate care to all patients and families just like the Millers.

On February 8, 2018, we lost a husband, a father, a Poppy Ralph and a friend.

Ralph Miller had a lengthy stay at your hospital. His journey with you began over 5 years ago when he started dialysis as an outpatient. For the next few years this unit became his extended family going 3 times a week. He became an inpatient in June 2017 where he fought many battles. Staff from the 2nd and 3rd floor gave him endless care, supporting the ups and downs.

In January 2018 he decided that he had had enough, he decided to stop dialysis and be comfortable. In his last few days we cannot express how thankful we were to have such a special team to care for our loved one. From the nurses who gave him endless care, the recreation staff who became chefs and made him the special breakfasts, to the palliative care team who offered support to us, and Dr. DiPaulo who was there not only as a doctor but as a friend.

Please acknowledge all for the outstanding care and friendship they gave to our special guy. Please accept this donation from us in memory of him.

We are thankful to all.
